Because I'm obsessed with bags right now, it only seems necessary that I devote another post to them. Particularly the front flap handbag. I. Die. (To use the immortal words of Rachel Zoe.)
I don't have outlined reasons on practicality or functionality with front flap bags, at least not as much as I did with dual tone or two tone handbags. But for some reason, I am obsessed.
Here are some front flaps I'm loving, from piperlime.com:

Damsels Love a Dual Tone Bag
Don't even get me started on two-tone handbags.
Well, since you insisted...
I love them. They are so practical, because normally they combine things that many of us are self-conscious wearing (like navy blue and black, or brown and black, or mixing patterns) and they make it easy! Have a navy blue outfit? Throw on your dual tone navy blue and black bag and you're good to go. The best part about them is that their practicality means this can really be a day bag. And by day bag, I mean week, month, even season bag.
The other thing I love about dual tone bags is that they are totally fall. Grab a leather/tweed dual tone, and you're instantly fall fly. And, since fall is all about textures and depth, these bags are total keepers.
Here are a few of my faves, selected from piperlime.com, enjoy:

Damsels Love Unexpected Necklines
Hailee Steinfeld is rocking this Versace dress at a Teen Vogue event in Hollywood.

Hailee aside, I love the neckline of this dress and have been seeing it everywhere! The long and short of it is, I WANT!
It does wonderful things for shoulders and arms and looks new and fresh every time I see it. Adding it to the wish list, effective immediately.

Damsels Question Missoni
Target shoppers who scored big-time on the opening day of the Missoni Line aren't the only ones capitalizing on the zigzag frenzy. Boho-luxe store, Anthropologie is trying their hand at a little Missoni Magic.
While Target shoppers loved their designer brand at every-day prices, enterprising eBay-ers are profiting (sometimes by 6 times the original amount) off the Target line.
This has some shoppers saying "good grief!"
But, if you're ready to fork out some more dough, for a theoretically "better" product, then give the scarves at Anthropologie a try. For $155 a pop, you can have your hands on that coveted zigzag swag, pictured below.

Is it worth it? You be the judge. If I had $200 to spare, I probably wouldn't think twice—these scarves are cute! And I think they are a higher quality than their Target counterparts. But for me, $200 could buy a really cute handbag, which I'd get more use out of.

Damsels LOVE Kate Middleton
Let's take a moment today to talk about why Kate is great.
First, I will let you in on a little secret: Kate Middleton and I are going to be best friends. I swear this will happen. Not even in a creepy, stalker-ish way, but in the way that it is just destined to be. No, I'm not psychic. And if I was psychic, I would still only predict things I wanted to happen, not things that really are going to happen—all in all, I wouldn't be a very good psychic.
Anyway, the girl, or should we say Duchess, does everything someone in her position should. She is gracious, and patient, and classically lady-like. If most Hollywood starlets and stars would act as she does, the world would be pretty darn classy.
Next, her style. Kelly Osbourne said on E! Fashion Police that if she were in Kate's position, she would wear a new outfit or a new dress everyday. But, half the reason Kate is so highly regarded is because of her ability to wear the same styles in new ways. I disagree with Kelly Osbourne's position. Just because you can afford to wear a new outfit everyday doesn't mean you should. What a waste of beautiful clothing!
I don't know about you out there, but when I like something enough to buy it, I want to get enough use out of it. Not just because it's my money I'm spending, but because I like it or I love it. It isn't just a one time thing. Kate probably feels the same way.
Let's take a look at her staples.
*She loves a good nude or navy pump.
*She loves well tailored skinny jeans.
*Most of the time, she has a little sleeve, and is not completely strapless or shoulder bare.
*She likes a dress that cuts at the natural waist.
*She likes Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham.
*She loves a good trench, or knee-length coat.
*She likes to wear her hair down.

Kate's go-to items are figure flattering and classic, so they never go out of style. She isn't as much into trends, because she starts the trend. This is why she is one of my fashion icons. You stay classy, Kate.

Pucci Hates Damsel Gwyneth Paltrow
OK. Gwyneth Paltrow usually looks amaze! We can all agree on that.
Something else we can all agree on? Her dress at this year's Emmy Awards was a monstrosity. An atrocious fashion tumor. The worst thing about the dress, by Pucci, is that it could have been great. We all love a little lace detail, and a mesh peek-a-boo here and there for some sultry suggestion of skin. BUT. The combination Gwen chose is something no one can stand behind. Or should be allowed to stand in. Especially in front of cameras.
(Photo from US Weekly)
The most ridiculous aspect of this dress is the fact that it makes her look bigger in places we all know she isn't. Aren't we shown pictures of her working out about twelve times a week. Are we not also shown pictures of her wearing body-hugging dresses, looking AMAZING?
The problem, my friends, lies in what I'm flirtatiously calling the 'mesh flairs' associated with her midriff. Said 'flairs' create a shadow around her mid-section, ultimately making it seem as if Gwen is not fitting into her dress.
So the question remains, am I more mad that she exposed the world to this monstrosity? Or, am I more concerned that a well-known and established women's wear designer created a piece like this for a woman's body and expected it to look good?

XOXO, Damsels
Gossip Girl, here...
Just joking. This is not that kind of blog. But I do hope it turns out to be just as juicy, scandalous, wonton, and fashionable as that show has been. And as that supposed blog has been.
In fact, speaking of Gossip Girl and fashions, have you heard of this new clothing line? According to Women's Wear Daily, the show is getting a line in it's name-sake.
So, will the line be all headbands and opaque colored tights? I think not.
The collection, by Romeo and Juliet Couture, will be a melange of Blair- and Serena-type styles. Take a gander below.
(Photos from MTV Style's article, found here. Courtesy Romeo and Juliet Couture)
The line comes just in time for the season premiere, which is Monday at 8 PM EST on the CW. Though, bashfully, I must admit that I have not followed the show carefully for a few years now, I think the fashions are still relevant. Many of these items may find their way onto my WISH LIST, whether I have the funds for them or not.
Preview the entire collection at romeoandjulietcouture.com. Personally, my favorite touch of the collection has to be the tagline: "Popularity Has its Price."
