Something else we can all agree on? Her dress at this year's Emmy Awards was a monstrosity. An atrocious fashion tumor. The worst thing about the dress, by Pucci, is that it could have been great. We all love a little lace detail, and a mesh peek-a-boo here and there for some sultry suggestion of skin. BUT. The combination Gwen chose is something no one can stand behind. Or should be allowed to stand in. Especially in front of cameras.
The most ridiculous aspect of this dress is the fact that it makes her look bigger in places we all know she isn't. Aren't we shown pictures of her working out about twelve times a week. Are we not also shown pictures of her wearing body-hugging dresses, looking AMAZING?
The problem, my friends, lies in what I'm flirtatiously calling the 'mesh flairs' associated with her midriff. Said 'flairs' create a shadow around her mid-section, ultimately making it seem as if Gwen is not fitting into her dress.
So the question remains, am I more mad that she exposed the world to this monstrosity? Or, am I more concerned that a well-known and established women's wear designer created a piece like this for a woman's body and expected it to look good?
